A new housing development is built on the edge of a town. The new community feeds mainly into the commuter traffic to London. For many of the new inhabitants, home is part of a dormitory town. As the new development expands there is an edge of waste where it meets the agricultural land. Remains of the older land use linger as mature hedge oaks among new houses.
